Millfield Avenue, Walthamstow, London

This refurbishment scheme involved the removal of an existing mineral wool insulated render system that had failed and the application of the Dryvit Drysulation external wall insulation (EWI) system. The brickwork required fracture repairs using a Helibar system to stabalise the substrate prior to the application of the Drysulation EWI system. Dryvit LL high performance (grey) expanded polystyrene (EPS) was installed to exceed energy performance requirements. HDP hydrophobic silicone based finish was then applied to give the buiding a well deserved aesthetic lift. Client: Ascham Homes Walthamstow, Main Contractor: Osborne. 600m2 Drysulation. Completed 2012.

Over 4000m2 of Roxsulation external wall insulation (EWI) was used to refurbish 4 high rise residential tower blocks for the client Sandwell MBC. A non-combustible insulation was specified to meet the local authorities building control requirements. 120mm of mineral wool insulation slab was incorporated to achieve 0.35 W/m2K to improve the living conditions and reduce heating costs for the tenants. The client used a number of pastel colours in PMRB Sandpebble to achieve a modern feel to an existing 1960's tower block.
