Frome court is a former 2 storey care home of traditional brick cavity construction. There was an extra floor added to the building along with a 2 storey block work extension. Planning consent was given with the proviso that the finished project would match a local new build project, of ground floor brick, stone window cills and render to all other areas. Developer, Architect and Main contractor Henry Mable Developments selected the Dryvit Outsulation external wall insulation (EWI) system finished with standard PMRB Sandpebble Fine to general wall areas and speciality finishes, Lymestone to cills and Custom Brick (Quarzputz) acrylic finishes to ground floor walls.

Dryvit's Outsulation Rail external wall insulation (EWI) system was installed on this new build development in Nottingham. The structural steel frame building was infilled with timber panels and overclad with the Outsulation Rail insulated render system. The 250mm thick walls, complete with a 20mm cavity between the holding track and substrate, provided U-Values of 0.15W/m2K which delivered unprecedented energy peformance at the time of construction and comfortably exceeded both building regulation and NHBC requirements. The Outsulation system was installed over a lighweight steel frame substrate and the Outsulation Rail system was installed over timber frame to satify Premier Insurance requirements. The insulated render systems satisfied building regulation requirements in terms of energy performance but also allowed a splash of colour to be used on the facade utilising PMRB Sandpebble Fine in a bright orange finish, incoprorating high performance pigments.  Area: 3,500m2. Dryvit's Outsulation external wall insulation (EWI) system provided a practical solution to a difficult design problem for the Overgate shopping centre in Dundee. Fresh from the success of the Outsulation system installation at the Bluewater shopping complex in Kent, it was suggested by Lend Lease that Keppie Architects should consider the Dryvit insulated render system by taking advantage of the innovative “Custom Stone” finish as an over-cladding for the existing building’s second storey facade. Area: 600m2.

Once a place of residence for Benedictine monks, Fort Augustus Abbey recently redeveloped, and renamed The Highland Club, now provides some of the best luxury self catering holiday rental apartments in Scotland with one, two and three bedroom units. The Brothers Wing development was built within the original fort walls, and so within one of the most historically important sections of the development. The Dryvit Roxsulation Rail external wall insulation (EWI) system was specified to allow the developer to mix the historical importance of the building with a contempary feel. The use of the Roxsulation insulated render system allowed the developer to easily meet local building control requirements, whilst its high thermal performance allowed u-value targets set out in Section 6 of the Scottish Building Regulations to be satisfied. 900 m2.
